Dear Heavenly Father, we're grateful for this day for us to gather together as a group of liberty -minded people and help us to continue to learn principles of liberty that we know ultimately come from these. So help us to have thy spirit as we do so and that we will be able to share ideas and learn from one another. And just, again, learn in the spirit and help us to have remembrance through the spirit, too, and be able to recall the principles of liberty and of the gospel when we need to in order to stand up for that which is right. And bless the presenter tonight. They will do well. And we say in his name, my son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
One of the things that that I always and I bring it up a lot, usually I'll focus on one or, you know, it's and it's in the boot camp. Some of these are in the boot camp. But I really want us to all be in this for the long haul. And of course, because we mean business and we're serious about what we're doing, I think all of us want to make sure that we're not doing things that are not effective or less effective or. that helped the conspiracy. And so I've been really heavily, basically full-time involved in Liberty and in organizing people for Liberty for 20, what is we at? 23 years now. And so, you know, I've seen a lot. I've seen what people, what people, you know, get, get started on for, why did they leave? What are the things that they get distracted? So even though they're still technically involved, they're getting torn off onto things that are helping the conspiracy in one way or another, or that people that have been consistent for the last 60 years, they have been stalwarts in making sure that they do not get pulled off the path that is most effective towards liberty. And so that's what I'm going to be covering tonight is the top seven tangents that are distracting patriots to help us to make sure that we don't fall for them or that if we've already kind of fallen for them, that we can kind of rededicate ourselves to not fall for them again. And so as always, of course, we are doing this to build and increase our knowledge and encourage you to study further because there's only so much we can cover. on a training. And so it's essential that you go and that you increase your knowledge on the principles that we cover tonight as well. And that everything that we do is for the purpose of building our understanding of and adherence to the principles that have built free nations to expose the conspiracy and to build an effective resistance to that conspiracy. So what is a tangent? A tangent is any activity, movement, or cause. No matter how well-intentioned it is or seemingly patriotic it is that diverts individuals or organizations' energy off course, draining time, money, or manpower into pursuits that fail to address the underlying problem of public ignorance and therefore cannot achieve lasting restoration of liberty. So a tangent is something that's taking you off course. Tangential. So the top six tangents, if I did, if I said seven, I'm sorry, I'm in six.
So the first one is religious neutralism, then information junkies, wild speculation, the sovereign citizen movement, false opposition, and partisan politics. Okay, these are, there are others, there's always more, but these are the top six that I see over and over again. and then the rest of them are kind of like you know hardly ever or you know or less often they're not really that big of a deal um they're not what i mean not big of a deal meaning they don't come up that much the other ones outside of this these are the ones that come up over and over again i think religious neutralism um and what uh partisan politics those are the two biggest um ones that people get sucked into because they're you know they are They are seductive for different reasons, but it breaks down to they're seductive because they release you of doing the hard work that really matters. Do we have a hand? Laura, yes. Can you tell me what is religious neutralism? What does that mean? Yes, we're going to go in depth in each of them. Okay, never mind then. No, you're good. I appreciate that question. That's good. So religious neutralism. We should simply go home, repent of our sins, pray and leave the struggle up to God. There's different variations of this. I've talked about like the rapture cult where people think that, you know, these things that we're seeing are inevitable.
There's nothing we can do about it. And if we try, we're going against God's plan. And so there's kind of different variations of religious neutralism. But basically, we're just saying. God's going to take care of it for us. We just sit here in our homes and we read our scriptures and try to give up our sins. And so do I say that we shouldn't repent, pray and leave results to God? Of course, everything is God's. We should repent. We should pray. We should read our scriptures. We should go to church. We should be good moral people. But does that mean that God? doesn't expect more of us than this. Yes, God does expect more of us than just that. There is definitely more to it than this. Mark, yes. Got to unmute, Mark. That religious neutralization, can't we say it is actually a sin? Because God says to oppose evil, to stand for justice, righteousness. So to say, I'm not going to oppose it. that we're really standing for sin. And the other point is there's so many other ways of religious neutralization verses they use in the Bible, like Romans 13, like you've talked about in the past. Yeah, absolutely. That's kind of ironic, right? Because it would be a sin to just do nothing but repent and pray. You're not repenting of the sin that you're not being involved. So, yeah, it's ironic. And so as we go into it, St. Augustine, he said that the famous, he's the one that came up with the famous saying of pray as if everything depends on God and act as if everything depends on you. And this isn't some, you know, faithless individual that doesn't really believe that God will fight your battles for you.
This is a very scriptural idea. And one example of it we find in the Old Testament when Jerusalem is under siege and the people, and we read in Nehemiah chapter 4, nevertheless, we made our prayer unto our God and set a watch against them day and night because of them. So yes, they prayed to God, but they didn't just leave it up to him. God expects us to act. And they set guards to watch against those that were trying to invade. And so that's one of our jobs, is to watch against invaders, to be those at the watchtower, warning of those people that are trying to come in. Moses, he didn't just pray to God that he would reveal himself to Pharaoh. to let the people go. He warned Pharaoh. He told Pharaoh to let him go. And then Moses declared the plagues. And then when they left Egypt, God did part the Red Sea. But even with that, Moses had to do something. He had to put his staff in the ground. And so do we need God in this battle? Absolutely. Does that mean we do nothing? Absolutely not. None of the miracles that I can think of off the top of my head, and if there is any, 99% of them, all happened because there was actions that God could bless.
And when people were slothful servants, there was nothing for God to bless, and so the people were cursed, and they were allowed to be taken over. Carmen, yes? In all of my emails, under my signature, I have a quote attributed to Joan of Arc. And she said, if we will act, God will act. Yep. So next time anybody gets an email from me, look at the bottom of my signature, and that's what it says there. And I truly, truly believe that. And that is... All throughout the scriptures, if we act, God will act. God needs something to bless. So the next one is, or does anybody have any questions on religious neutralism, on what that means, on the idea that we, of course, need to be engaged? We're all here, so I think we're all not really sucked into that, but I think understanding this so that we can help others is helpful as well. Mark, yes. Yes, I don't want to belabor this point, but... may act against us if we don't oppose these. 100%. I wouldn't say may. I would say he's promised to. Yes. Thank you. The next one is information junkies. And these are people that treat the battle as a game of gossip or who knows the latest horror. And they have no interest in being a part of the solution. Okay. That's kind of the key thing is that they're not there to. to be problem solvers, but just to say all the ain't it awfuls. And, and they're just there. Like if you're going to inform them, they're going to be like, Oh, that's old news.
That's nothing. You know, I don't, I already knew that they, they basically want to be the most informed person in the concentration camp. And so that's, that's kind of their attitude. And so, you know, ask the question, do we need to know what's going on? Of course, obviously. But information must be part of a plan to do something about it, not who has the latest ain't it awful to share. If we're just about sharing ain't it awful, we're in the process of getting people to wake up and give up all at the same time. All of the information that we share with people should be in the light of involving them. in the effective opposition to the conspiracy. Rod. Yeah, I would say that it's important for people to understand that that's really what Tree of Liberty Society is all about, right? Trying to help people see what's going on, understand what's real and what's not so that they can take action. And so I think that that's a big part of why it's important for us to be sharing. the information that we learn with others. And it's one of the reasons that I put the playlist together as well, because often there's topics that people have heard about, but they don't know much about and they form conclusions based on their limited knowledge. So if we inform ourselves and then share those things with them. they can come and inform themselves and find out, Hey, this is actually, here's actually the details, right? There wasn't really a satanic panic in the eighties. Something was really going on. It wasn't a big fake thing. You know what I mean? So I think that's super important. That's where that, that's where the information comes in. As long as it's leading you to the action, the knowledge leads you to understanding, which leads you to action. Yep. Thank you. Lori, go ahead.
You guys got on mute. Okay. I like the word junkie because it does. It's like people get a dopamine hit from whatever it is. You know, I mean, I love Josh Hawley, but, you know, it feels like it's all a big show. Nothing's really happening. The whole, you know, thing with Fauci being their investigation, you know, it's just I think that people. When I do talk to people that bring that up or want to say, oh, did you see that? And I'll say no. Because they're going to tell me about it anyway. And sitting through that, what are you going to do about it? And how does that change anything? And a lot of people just aren't interested. They're just interested in that pit. Exactly. You're on spot on. Thank you. Mark, you got your hand up. yes related to what was just talked about uh one of the big problems with these information junkies are also called arm armchair uh patriots is that they don't have enough information they're actually lacking information and the information they're lacking i'm particularly referring to is the solution and a lot of them will say they take that position not do anything because there's nothing you could do about it And that is an actual position that's been actively, consistently promoted by the conspiracy. So that's part of it. A lot of it is laziness, too, and fear that motivates them not to do anything. But a lot of it is true. It's just a lack of information of how the problem can be solved, even though it's a very difficult solution. And being lazy and succumbing to fear, everybody has fear. But being lazy and succumbing to fear are both. signs of a form of immorality. I agree. Okay.
So the strategy, right, is that we have a strategy behind it. The evil may be done away with. These things are given to us as a warning, you know, not to tell us how horrible things are, but so that we can be organized in an effective way. Because if we know our enemy, then we can have an effective resistance to the enemy. But if we don't know the enemy, then there's nothing we can really do effectively. And so, right, is our focus on the latest, greatest doom and gloom. We will lose discernment and we'll believe fake conspiracies that will cause you to lead, to lose credibility with others. And you'll be filled with pride because you think you know more than everybody else. You will be slothful and thinking nothing can be done. Take on a spirit of darkness that others will want to avoid. But if your focus is on action, love, and stewardship, you will not get bogged down in negativity and pessimism. You will be more dedicated to doing what's right. You will be an example for others that have been prepared to look. So really, if we have the right attitude, I think it's action, love, and stewardship, be maintained and will be a light to others instead of something people will be turned off by uh yeah mark you got on me i think a very important part of this neutralization is people have no standard or the wrong standard as to what they need to have in politics instead of a standard such as justice is the goal they often have just exposed i've seen this kate dolly on the epstein she said Her whole goal was exposure and implied that we shouldn't seek justice. So it's really important to have a standard, godly standard, like justice. And then it makes it easy to see that who you're describing, these information junkies, are in opposition to God law. One of the biggest leading voices in the release of the Epstein files, is Nick Bryant, and they have the website Epsteinjustice.com. And he has a kind of a bumper sticker saying of trials, not files.
Not that these against releasing files, but there has to be a purpose behind the file, the releasing of the files. And so if we're just talking about just releasing the files and it's not, then who cares? We need, people need to be held to account. Something needs to be done. Doesn't do enough to be able to see all the horrible. awful, deplorable things being talked about in the obscene files. So I appreciate that, Mark. So the next one is wild speculation. And so an information junkie leads us right into wild speculation, because if you're always looking for the next crazy story, you're going to be sucked in by the conspiracy theory versus the conspiracy fact. Someone involved in wild speculation is typically someone who has awoken to the conspiracy in an effort not to dismiss truth, believe every conspiracy theory presented to them, and they cease to be worried about the facts. So they remember kind of before they woke up and all of the things that were true that they dismissed. And they, you know, in an innocent, you know, in some ways, in some cases, an innocent desire. to not repeat their same mistakes of the past, they're repeating all new mistakes. And that is just believing everything. And so, you know, we need to have a healthy dose of skepticism in addition to recognizing that there is a conspiracy. And that's why I distinguish between conspiracy theory and conspiracy fact.
There's nothing wrong with the theory. What's wrong with the theory? Because all Investigations start with a theory or a hypothesis, and then they search after facts to prove out or disprove the hypothesis. And so the problem comes in is when they start repeating it before any investigation has been actually done. And so that's where the problem comes in, because then you lose credibility. And this is such a serious battle. We cannot afford to lose credibility. Right. You have some before I guess we go on to that. We've got to Mark. Yes. Go ahead, Mark. You got to unmute. Yeah, such a good point you're making. Contributing elements here and maybe another way of talking about this is insufficient intellectual integrity, insufficient intellectual honesty and insufficient intellectualism. uh what you're describing uh develop a hypothesis hypothesis and then you've got to prove it prove it or disprove it and jumping to conclusions is one of the uh things you're describing here and it really at the core of it is also a lack of uh loyalty to logic lack of use of logic and and we need when somebody makes these kind of arguments we want speculations We really need to get to the facts, what's been proven, and what does logic say regarding those facts. Does that make sense? Yep. Agreed. Thank you. Samuel, go ahead. You've got to unmute, Samuel. Go ahead. Here you go.
The conspiracy uses this to their advantage all the time. Yep. They have so many different people in the media that's just throwing all kinds of conspiracies out there. It just muddies the water. And people don't have a clue what to believe, what not to believe. They're just throwing every different conspiracy they possibly can at us until you don't have a clue what to believe. Yeah. And we don't want to be a part of that. So there are some wild speculation that are more obvious than others. You have the flat earth on the back of a turtle or the shape-shifting lizard people, that kind of stuff. But then you have things that are a little bit more based on, you know. What the conspiracy would like to do if they could or have plans to or is similar to. I remember a couple of more than a decade ago now, there was a big it was during the Obama presidency. And there was this big rumor about, you know, Walmarts being turned into FEMA camps. And you had people going into Walmarts that were being remodeled and claiming that they were being turned into FEMA camps that people were going to be thrown in prisons for. Then you have martial law. People are always claiming, you know, we're six months away from martial law. And then you have, I've talked about this before, you have Hal Turner claiming that he had an Amero coin. And, you know, of course, yes, they would like a one world currency, but that wasn't it.
And so it's essential that we don't just say, well, they have the goal to do that and somebody's talking about it. Therefore, it must be true. We need to make sure that, you know, that what is being said is accurate. And so before we get to that, so let's see here. Mark, yeah, go ahead. Go ahead, Mark. Often they'll say something that's partially true, but the example they get is untrue. Like the UN are taking militarily going to take over and they're on the train tracks or their tanks and so forth. What they don't tell you. how the UN and world government is taking over in more subtle ways. So a lot of times, you know, the example they get they want us to focus on is not true, but behind the scenes, what the general pattern or assertion is true in different ways. Yeah. Thank you. So the next thing we want to cover is false opposition. And this image right here is going to become more obvious as we go on. Patriots, right, they do most of the work and put up most of the money to elect exactly the person who was wanted in office by the conspiracy.
They put out somebody out there that says all the things that a patriot wants to hear. And so now they spend their money, they spend their time and resources and energy and influence to get that guy elected when he was the conspiracy's choice the entire time. This is because the patriots do not have enough understanding to detect the wolf in sheep's clothing being imposed on them. And then too late this time, then they wake up in sad disillusionment to the fact that they had been had. and then they do it all over again over and over and over again because which gets into the uh political uh tangent is they they think that that's going to be the solution and so they believe people at face value or they don't understand you know the person's connections in history they don't really understand what's going on what they're promising is actually feeding into what the conspiracy wants and so This is a clip from the Corbett Report, where he talks about hopium. And we have the full video on our website if you just do a search for hopium. But I want to show, this is an important clip that shows how they do this. Deus Ex Machina, or God from the Machine, refers to a plot device whereby the hero of a story is saved from some terrible fate by the sudden intervention of a god. The term comes from ancient Greek drama, where the god would literally be brought onto the stage using a machine like a crane or a riser. The plot device is still used to this day. Now, instead of a god intervening to save the day, some miraculous event, object, character, or ability appears from nowhere to save the day. Think of the deadly, unstoppable Martians in Welles' War of the Worlds, for example, felled not by the combined artillery of the world's militaries, but by ordinary bacteria. Or think of the T-Rex at the end of Jurassic Park, appearing out of nowhere to save the heroes from the velociraptors. These are not just stories we tell ourselves.
These are reflections of our thoughts about the world. They reveal our desires and beliefs, and they set up expectations for how the world really works. In the end, something will appear out of nowhere to help the good guys win and vanquish the bad guys once and for all. That's how it always works, right? Sure, Jan. Two and a half thousand years ago, that something was a god. But in the modern world, we're too sophisticated to believe that a god will swoop in and save the day. No, today, the deus ex machina isn't a god. More often than not, it's a politician. It isn't hard to see why Q became so popular. Like every good deus ex machina, Q promised to deliver the audience of the current political drama, exactly what they wanted. An entertaining, exciting, and satisfying resolution to the play, delivering the hero, Trump, from evil, the Democrats, just in the nick of time. It is not coincidence that enjoy the show and get the popcorn became favorite phrases of Q and the QAnon followers. This was, after all, just that. A show. A scripted drama designed to play on the psyche of the audience. But what was the point of the QAnon script? Who was the intended audience of this psychodrama, and what effect did it have on them? The clue comes in Q's constant exhortations for his followers to trust. Trust Sessions. Trust Grassley. Trust POTUS. Trust the plan. The terminology, as well as the methodology, of the Q operation evokes Operation Trust. a Soviet counterintelligence program in the 1920s that took over a pro-monarchist organization, the Monarchist Union of Central Russia.
The Soviets used operatives within the organization to persuade members that they should not engage in militant activity against the government because a plan was underway for internal anti-Bolshevik forces to topple the regime. Trust the plan. In this case, trusting the plan got members of the opposition either put on trial and sent to the gulags, or blackmailed into working for Soviet intelligence. Q certainly did pacify many with his constant entreaty to trust the plan. Q also rallied people time and time again to support the policies, operations, and personnel of the very deep state that they were supposedly fighting against. Suddenly, Jeff Sessions, Bill Barr, John Bolton, and other longtime members of the political establishment were the good guys in this elaborate drama. 99% of the agents at the CIA, FBI, DOJ, and NSA were patriots who served with distinction and thus needed to be supported. The decades-long neocon dream of invading Iran became, in the eyes of Q followers, a good and noble cause. But even beyond the pacification of those who would otherwise be resisting the government. Yes, the deus ex machina story is trotted out every few years under different guises. A secret order of ninjas is preparing to assassinate the evil Illuminati and bring peace to the world. A secret stash of trillions of dollars is about to be shared out with the people of the world, ending all poverty.
A cosmic realignment is going to take place on December 21st, 2012, raising humanity to a higher level of consciousness and ending all strife and suffering. An anonymous 4chan poster is leaking classified information about a good military coup that's going to restore order. and drain the swamp the message is always the same get the popcorn and enjoy the show the god is coming from the machine to save you just wait it is no great shame to be fooled by hopium at least once everyone has trouble distinguishing genuine hope from synthetic hopium when they first encounter it over and over we see the same story play out the crowd begins to lose interest in the political stage play They begin to suspect that it's fake, that reality is taking place somewhere offstage and out of sight. They begin to realize that they are not spectators at all, but active participants with the ability to shape the world around them. And then along comes a god from a machine peddling hopium, and the audience goes back to enjoying the show. The next thing is Sovereign Citizen. An individual can declare themselves a sovereign and independent of federal statute through things such as, but not limited to, mailing in their driver's licenses, mailing in their birth certificate, driving with a private license plate, saying certain words in a traffic stop or in a courtroom. So individuals think that if they do these... then all of a sudden either the officer or the judge is going to say, oh my goodness, these rules don't apply to you. You're not subject to the jurisdiction of this court. You're free to go. You're a free man.
That's what they believe. And that's what the people that push this, that they teach to people. And because so many people do end up getting in trouble, they always have an out of, well, you have to do it exactly like this or you're going to go to jail. And, you know, and so they always have an out of why it didn't work for somebody else. They just didn't do it right. And there's always a reason for it. But they fail to understand something vital, right? What is it that they fail to understand? That we face a satanic conspiracy. The conspiracy doesn't care about the law. Even if what they say is actually on the books, most of the time it's not. It's actually not relevant to what's going on, and they're really ignorant. But even if the thing that they're talking about is actually on the books, the conspiracy doesn't care about it. These weird tricks, they only work for conspirators. They don't work for the average person. It's not designed to, because it's only there to, if it's there at all, is to get a conspirator to be able to get away with something. have the people think it was legitimate. Like, oh, that's just the rules. Sorry. But when all of a sudden you try the same exact thing and you're going to jail, there is no form, no magic phrase that is going to get a trained criminal to get them to do the right thing. There is public pressure to get evil people to, um, you know, maybe sign a good bill, but none of these weird tricks like turning in your license. driver's license or having a private license plate or saying, you know, that you're a state citizen instead of an American citizen.
None of these things matter to a satanic conspirator. Let's see here. We have got a hand raised. Oh, did I go in? I'm not. Did I go in as a who's got their hand up? Oh, sorry, Mark. Go ahead. Go ahead, Mark. Yeah. False premise of many of these. sovereign citizen people assert is that government's going to follow the law. You've addressed that. And when the government doesn't follow the law, what do they use on you? They're using force. They're using tyranny. And when they violate the Constitution, they're taking away your liberties and freedoms. So that's what's really important here is it's a ridiculously untrue, unrealistic in America today. to assert that the government's going to follow it. And then, of course, many of their assertions are wrong, too. But another great example is income tax. A lot of people have followed these Soviet citizens. And I think there's some arguments that, you know, the income tax was illegally imposed. But it doesn't matter whether it's illegal or not. The government's going to still use force whenever they want in the tyrannical mixed economy we live in today. They're criminals. If they followed the law, they wouldn't be doing 90% of the things that they're doing. That's right. That's what AI told you. Micah, go ahead, Micah. Unmute though, Micah. Can you hear me? Yep. To hit the point home a little more, I think it was in Utah. There was that Utah County recorder who got ousted a few months ago. Cause they were like, well, he mishandled things. There were people that were, you know, to sum it up on an exempt list where they didn't have to pay property taxes. And, and I've seen stuff in there as well, that there's conspirators that they don't have to pay their mortgage. It was in Southern Utah. Yeah. Yeah.
Like the mortgage, the mortgage company just goes, Oh yeah, you totally paid it. Cause it's all just funny numbers. Yeah. And so, I mean, what a fantastic way to really like, you know, get one over on everyone else. secure your own uh corporate employees is to make sure that they're not suffering under the same burdens and you just you know because sometimes i've seen i'm just like how you know if you walk into a place and it just seems like too good to be true it's like well they're probably not paying taxes they're pro there's a chance that they don't have to pay their mortgage and so they're going to do all this stuff to destroy their competitors and people just like what the heck is going on how is this happening and in a place with these kind of margins and that that's just another example of rules rules for us you know and the rules don't apply to them yep exactly and that's that's the key they always talk about how you know this is how the rich get away with it well it's because the rules only apply to them they don't apply to you so and what and why this is so attractive is because it It lets somebody get away and think that they're going to be free without doing any hard work.
They're not educating others. They're not building understanding. They're not exposing the conspiracy. They're not trying to stand up against evil and expose evil and organizing with others to do the same thing. They're one person by themselves that they think that if they just they can do whatever they want day to day. And then if they get pulled over, they can say a magic word and they're free. And so it's very, very attractive. to people that are lazy. So the next one is partisan politics. The idea that if we just vote harder to get the right guy elected, we can take our country back. If this was actually the case, we would have solved that problem long ago. And so this is another one of the clips I wanted to play. It's so now with plenty dropping out, Rick Perry dropping in and Michelle Bachman and Ron Paul dominating the Ames straw poll. We got ourselves a race. We have a top tier. It is Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, and Michelle Bachmann. We have a new top tier, and it's Perry, Mitt Romney, and Bachmann. There's now a top tier in this race, at least for now, of Romney, Perry, and Bachmann. I think that's fair to say. Really fair to say? You're not forgetting, I don't know, anyone, say, an ideologically consistent 12-term congressman who came within less than 200 votes of winning the straw poll? Isn't anyone going to give that gentleman a little love? There's a top tier now of Bachman and Perry and Romney. And, you know, we haven't mentioned and we should. Thank you. We haven't mentioned and we should. Rick Santorum, who did really surprisingly well for the amount of money and resources he had. Rick Santorum? He didn't get half of what Ron Paul got. He lost to the guy who lost so bad he dropped out of the race. Santorum?
We're looking at Mitt Romney, who continues to be the front runner, but we have Rick Perry as well, and now Michelle Bachman. Let's not count out John Huntsman, though. What? John Huntsman? Huntsman got 69 votes. If all of John Huntsman's supporters met at the same Ames, Iowa Quiznos, the fire marshal would say, yeah, that's fine, no problem. There's still some tables open in the back. Huntsman was the only Mormon running in the straw poll, and he came in second amongst Mormons. And by the way, this pretending Ron Paul doesn't exist for some reason has been going on for weeks. A new Gallup survey showing Rick Perry running second to Mitt Romney, knocking down Iowa favorite Michelle Bachmann to fourth. Behind who? Libertarian Ron Paul become the 13th floor in a hotel. Why? What's wrong with... He is Tea Party patient zero. All that small government grassroots business, he planted that grass. These other folks, they're just moral majorities in a tri -cornered hat. Ron Paul's the real deal. And Fox News should love this guy. But watch the disconnect between the debate moderators at Fox's Thursday debate and the debate audience. Iran does not have an air force that can come here. Just like we did in Iraq. Build up the war propaganda. There was no al-Qaeda in Iraq. And they had nuclear weapons and we had to go in. I'm sure you supported that war as well.
It's time we quit this. It's time. It's trillions of dollars we're spending on. Merck in the eye roll. The crowd goes nuts and you do one of these. There goes crazy Uncle Ron. Happening about the unsustainability of multiple wars. Boop. He's the one guy in the field, agree with him or don't agree with him, who doesn't go out of his way to regurgitate talking points or change what he believes to fit the audience he's in front of, and you're treating him like if this were Celebrity Apprentice, he'd be this guy. By the way, the Ames-Iowa straw poll, Busey beat Huntsman 77 to 69. remember Ron Paul it's only to reassure themselves how there's no need to remember Ron Paul right now live right next to the bus behind us Ron Paul is speaking and seven of the candidates are here today we have live pictures of Ron Paul but you know what we're talking about Sarah Palin we're talking about Rick Perry the two people not in the race yet Drew and guess what Paul if you get video of Sarah Palin or get a soundbite from her bring that back to us you can hold the Ron Paul stuff They go through and they show with Ron Paul. This is an example of what I'm talking about is that all Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, they all ignored the constitutional candidate. Even if he was polling in third place or second place, they would bring up somebody that was in last place as the new up and comer and totally ignore Ron Paul.
That's what that video covered. And then you have this one is. Glenn Beck talking about how evil Ron Paul is and how he's just like Al Qaeda. And so you'll have not only the people ignoring the mainstream, ignoring you, but then you'll have the people that would normally be seen as promoting liberty like Glenn Beck has seen as that. But we've exposed him over and over again. He is out there trying to get the liberty minded people to ensure. that they don't vote for the liberty candidate, that they spend all of their resources on the other ones. And even if that doesn't work, like with Ron Paul, especially in 2008, it didn't work. He raised $35 million. And he had the record of the single day online fundraising record of $10 million. Nobody else. Obama didn't do that. Mitt Romney didn't do that. John McCain didn't do that. He raised $10 million in one day. He had the best fourth quarter of any other candidates with over 100,000 individual donors. That's huge, right? The other candidates, they had so many fewer donors that they didn't even release how many donors that they had because they had just a bunch of... or several, what's it called, big donors, where they would give $5 ,000, $10,000.
You'd have less people giving bigger checks. But even with that, you have got more people donating. You've got bigger money being donated. And what happened to Ron Paul? He had all the support. He had all the money going for him. But then you have in key states like Nevada, you have the Republican Party apparatus. ensuring that the rules weren't followed. Again, rules for the, not for me. And so they would break, anytime it was close with the election in a state, they would break the rules, right? Because like in Nevada, especially, where they had people voting in person and they had the caucus where it was all public and it could be seen, they couldn't hide it like they could with elections. They just broke the rules so that way. that the preferred candidate would win. And so Mark, real quick, and then Micah. Go ahead, Mark. I knew one fellow that was one of the watchers of the count, and they actually, you know, libertarian, and they actually caught them giving McCain much of Ron Paul's vote. And they had Ron Paul in fourth place. And then when they said, they acknowledged that. That was what they were doing because it was so obvious. They changed the vote and Ron Paul came in second.
But, you know, they were cheating in every sort of way you could imagine. Yep. Thank you. Micah, go ahead. I remember one of our members from long ago was in, I believe, Arizona at some Republican caucus and where they had to do voting or whatever. It was a Ron Paul thing in the Republican Party. And he said that he claimed that the leadership on his, you know, his leadership team was against him. And that one of the things that they did and he watched it happen was there was overwhelmingly Ron Paul in the room. And they just bust in people from out of town. And people from out of town didn't even arrive on time to meet the deadlines. But they said, oh, we'll just, you know, let him in anyway. Yeah. Frankly, I'm not really convinced that Ron Paul is really the real deal, but it just goes to show you that they do it. They do it all anyway. It doesn't matter. Yeah. Yeah. Because of the rules that they break and it's, they won't follow it. But at the same time, can you imagine if the amount of people that were working on the Ron Paul campaign and all the action, not even the money they spent, just the time and the effort that they spent into it. and then throw on top of that the money that was donated to it. If they did that to the principles laid out in our member manual, there'd be no stopping us. There was nothing that we couldn't do if we had that many people focused on the things that actually work, that have proven to work over time, that we've looked at throughout history. We're not even talking about, you know, in the last 50 years. We're talking about throughout history.
The principles that are laid out in the member manual are the principles that are... found throughout a history of what works, when it works, and how to do it. And so that's why we want to say what doesn't work, because we want to show you that this is what we're, if we spend that much effort on what does work. But the problem is, is that people think that, oh, I just donate now. I do a few, you know, I volunteer a few hours. I go to a few rallies from now until November. And then I don't have to do anything anymore because somebody else already saved me. I don't have to worry about it anymore. The problem, somebody is elected now that will take care of this, and I don't have to worry about it anymore. And that is abdicating your responsibility and is the recipe for tyranny. And so those things are designed. Even if Ron Paul was a good guy, let's just give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's 100% just exactly who he says he is. It doesn't matter because that wouldn't have worked because that is... it up to him is the recipe for tyranny. And so we need to stop looking to these short-term, lazy, immoral solutions and focus on the things that actually work. And as the founding father said, that liberty can only work for a moral and religious people. And so we prove our morality by our willingness. to do the work necessary to defend liberty. And those things are the things that we found and put together in the member manual. And because of my not using the right browser, we are over time. But let's have closing prayer, have some comments and questions on this topic, then we can go into open forum. But let's go ahead. And Rod, would you give the closing prayer for us?
Heavenly Father, we are grateful to... able to meet once again this evening and discuss these principles. We're grateful for Ben and all of his research that he's done over the years and his willingness and desire to share these things with us. And we ask you to help us to keep these things in mind at all times and to take them into our hearts and to cease being deceived, to understand and learn better ways and to begin to apply those better ways in our lives. and to teach them to others so that we may become a free people once again. And we pray for thy spirit to go with us at this time and to continue to lead us and teach us. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
