Member training from January 20th 2025. This nights discussion revolves around the theme of restoring and preserving liberty in the face of perceived governmental overreach and conspiracies. We emphasize the importance of understanding historical methods of resistance, such as nullification and interposition, as well as the need for citizens to recognize and reject the legitimacy of those who violate their oaths of office. Ben encourages a shift in mindset towards viewing current leaders as usurpers and advocates for building a community of like-minded individuals to effectively challenge and resist oppressive actions. The conversation also critiques the ineffectiveness of traditional political solutions, such as voting, in addressing systemic issues, suggesting that a more grassroots approach is necessary for meaningful change.

Our kind Father in heaven, we're thankful for this opportunity to meet together and to learn how to fight these secret combinations like we have been warned to in the Book of Mormon. We ask you to please be with us and help guide us to do thy will. And this is our prayer in the name of thy son, Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen. Thank you so much. Carmen, go ahead. It loses the sight of the big picture. And so we kind of focus on that one thing. And so I wanted to kind of pull back a little bit and show exactly again why we don't focus on the things that we focus on and then some different angles of why they don't work that we haven't covered before. And then getting into which will lead into why we focus on. what we focus on and what are those first things first. And so a lot of just going back to last week's book club night as well. There are some things that we talked about that are going to be, you know, probably necessary in the future, but we're just not there yet. So that's another aspect of what are the things that help us to get where we need to go. And so I wanted to cover those things tonight.
Please, if you have questions, comments. Please feel free to chime in. Question regarding the title of the presentation, Restoring Liberty. I assume what you're going to be discussing is how to help sustain what liberties, few liberties we still have, seemingly few. Sure. We want to be able to preserve the liberty we have and restore the liberties we've lost, for sure. So the first thing is, you know, this is kind of typical of what people talk about. So if there wasn't a conspiracy. These are the things that we would do. Right. So if Congress or the president, if they act unconstitutionally, the first step is to get a state legislature to pass nullification legislation, just like was done with the Kentucky Resolutions and other examples in the early part of our history. State legislatures, they were guardians of the Constitution. Their job was to step in and say, hey. You know what? You guys aren't allowed to do that. We're not going to enforce it here in our state.
And then the next step would be to get them to interpose, which is known as the doctrine of the lesser magistrates, where they actually go in and they prevent an unconstitutional act from being implemented. So that's kind of the you had the first step, right, of saying, hey. You guys aren't allowed to do that. We're not going to enforce. It's kind of more passive. Where then the next step is to actually, if they continue to act in that way, you step in and you actively stop them from implementing their anti-constitutional agenda. And the third one is you vote them out, right? You've done all these things. And then once the election comes up, then those people that tried to do those things that led to steps one and two, you remove them. So if there wasn't a conspiracy, these are the things that you would do.
But hopefully, if you're on this call tonight, you know that there is a conspiracy, right? So there is a conspiracy. And so there are additional or other steps that need to be taken in addition to and instead of. OK, so what did the founders do? They understood these principles and these ideas. Did they vote harder? Did they say, we just have to make sure that the king doesn't get reelected next time? No, of course not. Did they take the king to court? And hopefully the courts will decide if the king has violated their rights. No, they didn't do that either. Did they wait for the savior to come to fix all their problems for them? And no, they didn't do that either. They knew that they had a duty to God to make the world better. than it was when they got here. And so they didn't use these as excuses to not do the right thing. They organized together in groups of people like the Loyal Nine or the Sons of Liberty, where they built the understanding of the people.
We have examples of people going to Samuel Adams and saying, the people are lost. You're wasting your time. There's nothing you can do about it. And Samuel Adams said, no, that the people are not dead. to liberty. And when he sees people that are at least a little bit interested, he's going to light those brush fires of freedom inside of them and tell that they can take more actions to be able to preserve and restore their liberty. And so they started off with that building of the understanding. And then they engaged in physical resistance, things like The Boston Tea Party and other things along those lines where they interposed. They said, no, we're not going to. Not only are we not going to obey this, but we're not going to allow it to be enforced in our community. And then the next one is they said, you know what?
We're not going to be a part of you anymore. They separated themselves because they knew that there was nothing. There's no common ground left for them to be able to stay connected to England. And so those are kind of some of the basic steps, an overview of the steps that they took to be able to preserve liberty and restore lost liberty in their time. And so we can look at what things work versus what things don't work. Why didn't the founding fathers work supposedly within the system? Why were they so, you know, what people would say, you're either a traitor or you're an anarchist, you know. But they weren't anarchists. They were people that wanted to live, you know, have government follow natural law. And so they took steps to be able to make sure that a government that they were under would do those things, recognizing their natural right of separation. Ben, before you move on to this next topic, just staying with nullification a little bit.
I've studied what James Madison, the father of the Constitution, had to say on that, and Jefferson quite a bit as well. And resistance was one of the forms of nullification. There's a myth out there, and you're not supporting it. based on what you said, but a myth that it's only the state legislature that carried out just because that's what Jefferson and Madison and Kentucky and Tennessee did. But, excuse me, James Madison makes it very clear. And I think you were going to download the document or he talked about the four forms of nullification. I don't know. Did you download that from 10th Amendment Center and post it? I did not. Did you send me the link? Because I was waiting. No, I think you were just going to go there, like you said. But it's very easy to find. It's a different thing I'm going to be working on. Just go to the nullification section there and you'll find it. Okay, good. Thank you. Four steps to nullification. But resistance, nullification has a role for every American.
And also he stressed one of the forms of it is executive branch. nullification by the governors, state legislators, and resistance by the citizens, including demonstrations. This is where he said to demonstrate is of value. But nullification isn't left up to your representatives. It's a role of all of us. And then, of course, our role is also to encourage our legislators to nullify. with resolutions and so forth. But so I do recommend looking at that document. Maybe you could find, if you can't find it, I can always send it to you. Yeah, thank you. Absolutely. We need to follow those steps. And so, yes. And so there are some people that would say that it was just the states that had the authority to do that, which is obviously not. He was stressing all these could be done simultaneously. They don't need to be done in order. Right. Well, and especially if the conspiracy controls your state legislature, you can't. say, oh, well, now we're stuck with the evil and tyranny.
That's, of course, not the case. You can only, if government has the power, that means you have that power as an individual to delegate to them. So if the government has the power to do something legitimately, that means you as an individual have the right from God to do that very same thing. And it's also legislature's responsibility to recall the governor if he doesn't go along with it. Yeah, which tells us a lot, right? No matter what state we live in right now, Did you have a state legislator in your state that introduced articles of impeachment against your governor? If they didn't, that means you don't have anyone in your legislature that cares about freedom and enforcement. Don't have anybody to vote for is what you're also saying. Among incumbents. Go ahead. What was that? Among incumbents. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, it's only people that you have records for. of that specific thing but you can look at other things for sure but so why do why i want to get into why we dissolved our union and then look at that so i want to give those examples and if you've been to the boot camp you've seen these and so i think it's but i think if you haven't this um i want to encourage you to do so um but even if you have i think this is important for us as a reminder because we are always bombarded with these different things you know if You know, if we don't win this election, you know, this is the end of the Republic.
And they say that every four years. And so we need to look at, well, what are the reasons why? I'm not going to go over every reason. I'm going to go over some key reasons why the founding fathers said it was time for them to not just try and fix England, but to say, you know what, we're separating ourselves. So the first one, the king has erected a multitude of new offices and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people. and eat out their substance, okay? So now today we have over 345 federal agencies, government corporations, quasi-official agencies, boards, commissions, which claim authority to write rules for individuals and businesses. Okay, so do we have that same thing that the king had? I would say we have it even more so than the king even did. We could see it happening with our farmers and their... horrible crime of selling raw milk, something that people have consumed for thousands of years, all of a sudden is a crime against humanity. We have to put them in jail. Of course, you have OSHA fining people for not going along with COVID restrictions, fake pandemic restrictions. So we see them eating up our substances. The next thing is, is he affected to render the military independent of and superior to the civil power? So the founding fathers were very much against the idea of an executive being able to command the military on their own. It was something that was left up to the civil power, meaning Congress, as the only one that was authorized to authorize the use of the military. But because of what... saw in history of giving that power to one individual. But today, do we have that? Of course, this is just using Biden as the example, but we could use any president would suffice.
He, on his own accord, sent thousands, a thousand troops to Afghanistan. He boosted U.S. troops in Europe. And then we see the war of Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, all the way, you know, Nicaragua, Panama, Chile, Bolivia. All of these different wars that we've been involved in or military actions that we've been involved in illegally. They violated the Constitution as much as the king violated the English Constitution by absorbing that power to himself. Yeah, he left Syria out of that list there. Yeah, the list might fill up the page more than I had room for. So that's why I included the Excederas. So the next one is the king has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws, giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation. OK, so we have the World Bank, the UN, International Monetary Fund, USMCA, plus 83 other or more than 83 other bodies that were subjected to. that are completely outside of the constitution. Their acts are pretended legislation, but they have the guns. And so people submit to them. And so we have the same thing.
And well, we have more of a problem with this than even the founding fathers did under the king. Next one is for the king transported us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses. So we have the same thing where US citizens are being held prisoner in Guantanamo Bay. and other foreign prisons. Throughout the world, U.S. citizens are being held without any kind of due process. They're being held without even being charged in many cases. And so, again, another example of the fact that we have the same, if not worse, problems with our government that the Founding Fathers had with theirs when they decided to declare independence. They had to separate themselves from them. And we have here, he's excited domestic insurrections among us. This was even during a Republican and Democrats where I was able to document that the state, well, this was nationwide. The same thing, the same, this was during 2020, the spring and summer of 2020.
And every state, this is a coordinated effort if the same thing happens in every single state. And so I was able to document it in the state of Utah, where the city police in Salt Lake City, as well as the state police at the Capitol, were working to set up these and support these riots. And so if that coordinated effort was in Utah, I guarantee you that same coordinated effort happened in every single state. Otherwise, they would not have been able to happen. And so we have the same thing with our government. coordinated throughout the country, exciting domestic insurrections among us, Republicans and Democrats. Now, and if we think we're going to have a political savior to fix all this for us, I want you to go and read the article I have up on the website about Ronald Reagan and his, you know, what his pretended record was versus what his real record. was and so that we can see because as reagan is kind of an example to a lot of people of a political hero that was there to you know uh stand up to international communism and make america great again and so if we understand that history we can see that that same principle applies watch the video i have on there about uh the uh about hopium those will show you the the record on these so-called political saviors and that the conspiracy produces political saviors to make sure that we do not actually engage in effective action against them okay so now we have to ask ourselves with this if we have a conspiracy that that is in effect in these things And I asked this question in the voting presentation that I gave.
Hopefully we've watched, right? If the conspiracy is controlling the elections and every aspect of them, if we fix the voting machines, I mean, can we get the voting machines fixed? Will they stop ballot stuffing if we vote harder? If we vote harder, will that get people throwing out votes to stop throwing out votes? Will it get judges to stop supporting all of the above? And of course, I would hope we would all agree that no, voting does not fix those problems. Because if the conspiracy controls the elections, what does that mean about who we vote for? What does that mean about who gets elected? people that are counting the votes all of a sudden saw their likeness hang up on a tree like they did the tax people during the revolution. So you're talking about the Battle of Athens? No. Oh, I hate to bring up that crackpot, but I bought all of his kids' books. Conor Boyack, his history, said that They just hung in effigy all the tax collectors and then fled back to England.
Yeah, so being out there in force. So it wasn't voting that got those people to do the right thing. It was getting them to fear. As Thomas Jefferson says, when the government fears the people, there is liberty. And so it's doing things that makes the conspiracy afraid is what gets conspirators to short-term do the right thing. because that helps protect their position. It is not doing what they've told you to do. That does not get them to do the right thing. So if we vote, if you stick in the voting system, does it change any of those things? I think the answer, I hope the answer, if anybody disagrees with me, please, I would love to hear your argument. But I think it's clear that voting doesn't solve those problems because The people that are in power or the people that are part of the conspiracy are going to ensure, because they control every aspect of this, that whomever is elected is going to support the system that got them elected.
And they're going to make sure that nobody gets elected or nobody, right? No matter how many votes you cast and where those votes go, the people that are counting the votes are going to make sure that only the people within their system are elected. Therefore, that means everyone we have in office from the president on down is somebody that the conspiracy wants in there. There's two ways, at least two ways that happens. One way is they work very hard to tell us the candidates we have to vote for. But the bigger way... they teach us to vote for tyrants. They teach us to vote for their people. They teach us to vote for people that are destroying liberty and violating our rights and our national sovereignty and so forth. And so I think a great deal of what you're also saying here is we didn't have any voter fraud at all. We'd still be electing people that are doing the bidding of the conspiracy to enslave mankind. With our current understanding, absolutely. Go ahead, Alan. I think with the 15 million that went up in the rapture after the election before this one, 15 to 20 million people that they lost or decided not to vote, that just really shows that 2,000 mules must have really had a lot of names in their bag unless we hold these county clerks accountable.
The people here in Utah that was checking the counties and finding out there was so much fraud here in Utah amazed me. And then the government threatened to throw them in jail if they didn't shut up. We need to scare the hell out of the people that's counting the votes. Alan, you realize Ben's point is that even if we stopped all the voter fraud, they would still be electing the same people. Well, I never disagree with them. But the problem is, instead of hanging them in effergy, if there was a couple of them on the high school marquees, I doubt that they'd be so open in their cheating. And the cheating is only one part of it, as Mark, I think, is pointing out, is our lack of understanding of correct principles. Because we look at a lot of the so-called patriots throughout time just loved Ronald Reagan, and he was a part of the conspiracy.
They loved and defended George W. Bush. And when he did the Patriot Act, they would accuse people that opposed the Patriot Act of supporting the terrorists. Because of the conspiracy and its control of the election and because of our lack of understanding and supporting of correct principles, we end up supporting bad people as much as they control the vote. And so it's vital for us to take a multi-pronged approach that, yes, we have to strike fear in the hearts of the conspirators at the same time that we build understanding. in the masses. Because if we only do one of those, we are going to have the same results we have right now. But if we do at least both of those, that's when the change starts to happen. I was a sucker for Reagan. I was worse than that. I was a sucker for Bob Dole. That's ridiculous. And so I need to bring up how stupid I was with that. Well, my father liked Bob Dole because he was a World War II guy. But Reagan and – I'm probably going to get shunned on this one. Reagan and Trump, yeah, I'm suckering right in on both of those. Well, hopefully you'll read the article on Reagan. I'm going to check it out. All righty. Yeah, go ahead. Quickly address the principles you're talking about. Your talk tonight is basically summarizes what are the steps we ought to take to restore liberty. But we can't take any of those steps effectively if we don't know what liberty is. We've got to know those principles.
And of course, you don't know what liberty is if you don't know what tyranny is. You have to know what individual rights are. that kind of knowledge or there's no way in the world you're going to restore liberty and and most americans is uh the uh great constitutionalists uh uh you're you have an association with uh wolvington yeah liverton that stated that most americans don't know what liberty is no but we know what we know what tyranny is i mean you go fishing now they allow you poor trout if you've got grandkids and and family you want to get food for, for trout, you'd have to have a little bit of the savior in you where you could feed the multitude by... But they only seem to understand tyranny when it's a Democrat imposing it. But when there's a Republican imposing it, then all of a sudden they think that tyranny is good. You have to identify the principle and ideology, and most Americans can't do that well. Just because you can give an example like you just did, doesn't mean that you or anybody understands what the political ideology and the principles of liberty are.
All of the Utah governors fit right in there. I'm going to jump in and say I don't think we do understand tyranny. If we did, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now. Absolutely. Yep. Absolutely. All right. Let's go ahead and continue on. So, of course, we have these false solutions promoted by false patriots. And I'm going to give Obamacare as an example. Mark brought up the 10th Amendment Center. So I wanted to kind of here's another voice showing you what doesn't work. And so I'm going to bring up the 10th Amendment Center. They did a great article right here. The top five ways to fail at eliminating Obamacare. So you could use these same things. getting rid of bad legislation whatever the bad legislation is and implementing something good these are the ways to fail at it and so they and they lay out why so the right this was written in 2012 so we have hindsight of history to show how right these guys were because they were following principle instead of personality so uh number five they you know there was this idea by certain take talk radio hosts that was we just have to wait for obamacare to collapse under its own weight that it's just gonna fail on its own and so we don't need to worry about it and so their response was for decades people have said that american foreign policy can't continue on this path it does we've heard that the fed can't keep printing and printing and printing but it still does or that the next violation of individual liberty is going to wake enough people up to bring things to an end but yet constitutional violations continue unabated yes obamacare is certainly an economic monstrosity But waiting for it to fail under its own weight won't help, even when taking responsible steps for your own emergency preparation.
And guess what? Tomorrow never comes. So we've had the Federal Reserve since 1913. Are we just going to wait for that to fall on its own weight? That's our children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren that are having to deal with this, the same thing as we're having to deal with. the results of the Federal Reserve still in existence, people waiting for it to collapse on its own weight. So this is not a way to fix or to solve a problem or to make a problem go away. Ben, your example of Obamacare, there's some really quite relevant information. It was tiltering towards possibly collapsing until President Trump intervened. And what he did is he took a lot, I mean, with the Congress's cooperation, he took a lot of taxpayers' money and they increased subsidies for both the insurance company and the unemployed, you know, those people that were... being forced to have to pay for their insurance by the original terms of Obamacare. And so he took the rest of our money to pay for their insurance. On top of that, he increased subsidies. That's part of that huge deficit occurred while he was a president. And so that stabilized it. So this is an example of the other party cooperating with the Democrats all working together in this conspiracy. Thank you.
So number four is eliminate it by executive order. now we've been through three presidents or one since i mean two presidents since then um and we can see just all on its own that hasn't worked um all presidents have made a mockery of constitutional restraint with their use of executive orders and of course both sides of the political aisle make excuses for their president when he's been in office all of this is part of our never-ending path towards an executive dictatorship look There are many ways that executive action could theoretically put enough roadblocks in the way to bring the Affordable Care Act to an end. But to any constitution loving person, the idea of a president eliminating law by executive order should be considered extremely dangerous. Here's the big problem. If we accept the idea of one person deciding whether or not a law will stay or go, what's to stop the next president from reversing those decisions? This would be a temporary band-aid at best. This really gets back to like a lot of the the my mindset when I was first starting to wake up. This was right. We had after 9-11 and they have the introduction of the Patriot Act. And I looked at that and I said, wow, that's you know, I wouldn't I don't think that Bush would abuse this.
But what about the next guy? And so I opposed it on those grounds at that time, not knowing who Bush was at the time. And so but now we can say, OK. Nobody has, nobody's allowed to violate the law, number one. Only Congress is allowed to pass and repeal laws. But I think overall that the history proves that waiting for a president to get rid of bad law has proven, in addition to not wanting them to violate the Constitution, it's proven to be futile. Biden, of course, didn't repeal it. And Trump did not repeal it in four years, even through executive order. And as Mark has pointed out, he actually made sure that it was stabilized and continues on. And there is no Republican talking head. Trump, during his entire campaign for president, nobody was talking about eliminating. Obamacare. That is a dead issue now. All of those people are just accepting it as the law of the land, supposedly. Waiting for that to happen is ridiculous. I thought the reason we still had Obamacare is because that guy from Arizona, McCain, I thought it was him giving his thumbs up to shut everything down. I just figured that they Didn't want to bring it back since it was just hanging on John McCain's vote. Well, he's been dead for a few years. Anybody could have brought it back.
He couldn't have died quick enough. Alan, you need to know this. That was one vote. The president of the United States, Trump, had equivalent to 17 senator votes. He had equivalent to about 100. congressional votes if he did do it. He had much more power than McCain did to stop it. Nobody's telling you that. The Senate has had dumb people like Flake and Mitt Romney and Arkowski. It seems like when it hung by one vote. I think I've just decided that there's too many idiots in there on the Republican. Alan, you're ignoring what I just said. It wasn't one... The president had equivalent to 17 senatorial votes. He had equivalent to about nearly 100 congressional votes to end it. But he didn't. He didn't veto it. He signed it into law. Yeah, but you didn't listen to me. There's too many rhinos. There's too many rhinos for it to ever get passed. That's always been the excuse during the Bush administration and during every administration, frankly. Every administration, it's always... oh we just need to vote harder next time we got to get more republicans in there because we just can't get our agenda passed and so and so we have here over a hundred years of tyranny being implemented because people are saying we just need more ours in there to get the right thing done instead of recognizing the fact that we are under a conspiracy and that those in power are a part of it because they're not as as you brought up before the call even started alan Trump isn't waiting for, you know, all the rhinos to go along with stuff. He's signing executive orders all day today and wasn't waiting for these things to happen. So they they are not doing executive orders to do this. And even if they did, they shouldn't, because that's not how it works.
And so let's go on to number three. Go back to the Supreme Court. We're going to sue our way out of Obamacare. Some people, primarily legal scholars and so-called experts, believe that a proper next step is to go back to court. Yeah, right. They'll get to write more articles about it, get more attention on the legal discussion and advance the importance of their profession. But that's about it. So, you know, we can we can it was a Republican appointed Supreme Court justice, John Roberts, that kept Obamacare in there. That is not going to change. The conspiracy needs. centralized control of medicine. We have it on our website, Medicine Leads the Way. It's a talk by Robert Welch. And it was written, it was given, I think, back in the 60s or 70s. And it is an essential to understanding why the conspiracy in the federal, you know, the judicial branch, the executive branch, and in Congress will not take steps to repeal Obamacare or any other part of the conspiracy's major tent poles. So the next one is vote the bums out. Blowhards like Bill O'Reilly tell us that, quote, if Obama goes down, so does the liberal movement in America. End of quote.
Obviously ridiculous. Obama's been out for a while now. And look at what we still have. This one could easily have made number one because it's so idiotic and ignorant. Not only would the current alternative give you much of Obamacare under a different name, but there's virtually no reason to trust Republicans in general. when it comes to eliminating the so-called liberal movement in this country. They have been part of it for a long time. We saw that with Mitt Romney, which everybody, you know, when he ran against Obama, you had people like Glenn Beck saying he was the next George Washington. Literally, he said that. And even though he was the one that got Obamacare started in Massachusetts under, you know, Romneycare. And when he was running for president, all these so-called, all the talking heads and all these so-called conservatives were all saying what a great guy Mitt Romney was. But now that he's, you know, a senator, and especially now that he's out of office, now they can say he was a rhino. But they all defended him and supported him and made you out to be a commie if you didn't support him.
Republicans gave us the biggest expansion of government-run health care in three decades when they passed Medicare. Medicare Part D under Bush. They played a significant role in the new record number of people on food stamps. And twice in 2012, they voted to keep the program that gave us Solyndra. But it's not just Republicans who play this game. Democrats are equally guilty. The election of the peace president brought us new wars, an expansion of the Patriot Act, indefinite detention, and much more. So because the conspiracy controls the elections, That means whoever gets elected is Republican or Democrat, as Carol Quigley said, is going to continue the same program. Voting the bums out is a proven, now over 12 years, proven way to fail at eliminating Obamacare. Right? We've got the same thing, right? Crowd cheers, lock her up. He says, that plays great before the election. Now we don't care. So, you know, what they say when they're trying to get elected is one thing. What they do once they're in office is completely different. Now, the number one, repeal and replace.
That's what, what's his name? Sean Hannity always talks about, or used to always talk about. The federal government should not be managing the healthcare industry, period. It doesn't matter if that management is done by someone named Obama, Romney, Bush, or Clinton, or Trump. I don't want a new name for Obamacare. I don't even want a lesser Obamacare. I want the feds to butt the hell out and follow the constitution. Okay. So that's right. Repealing and replacing is not a solution. It is just a way to continue the tyranny from one era to another. Every Republican senator, or virtually everyone, including Senator Mike Lee, supported the replacement bill for Obamacare. The replacement bill was equivalent to the greatest increase of socialism in America in 80-some years. It was the only bill that the law that was worse was Obamacare itself. So that replacement makes you practically one of the worst communist politicians in history. Yeah, if a Democrat had introduced that in 2009, all the Republicans would have lost their minds. So what does history prove, right? Obamacare is still in the books.
No one is talking about getting rid of it. And Republicans, they promise not to repeal it, just like they do with Social Security, which is also a part of the socialist program that constitutionalists oppose when it was first implemented. And as a mark of socialism. And so we need to understand that this following the talking heads, traditional solutions to so-called fixing the problems, what they are designed to fail. You can't do it every time on accident. It's on purpose. Yes, it's actually destructive to call it Obamacare because once Obama was out of office, it was really Trump care because he put it in his budget. And so it was then once he was out of office and Biden was in there is Biden care and Congress. And now it's Trump is Trump care again today as of today because he's keeping it in his budget. If it would be simple, he doesn't even have like even if there was a problem in the Senate or the House, all he would have to do is say, I'm going to veto this. every single time you bring it to me until this is out. Absolutely. But people get this notion once it's passed, the next administration can't do anything about it. It takes five seconds for Trump to abolish it with a veto. And that threat, the threat you just gave and just not signed up any budget that has it in it. Yep.
When I went in to sell life insurance because they told me they were going to pull my health car driving truck. And when I was in insurance, we always talked about Social Security was the rottenest thing ever. You could buy just disability insurance and health insurance and have more money than you would through Social Security. And President Benson was giving a talk where he said, don't participate in Social Security. And when he gave that talk, I thought to myself, what the hell are you talking about? Your employer takes it out. You don't have nothing to say about it. How could you not participate in it? unless you're self-employed, and even then they make you pay self-employment tax, which is Social Security. Now that I'm old and on Social Security, I don't know what I'd do without the dang stuff. So they get you trapped. They've enslaved you both ways. What you benefit from or not benefit from is an argument, a utility argument. Actually, the average person would have way over a million dollars waiting for them if they invested in conservative investments. But it's not a personal matter. It's also a matter of theft for all other Americans. You're forced to go into this. You're forced to pay taxes. It's another welfare bill. And so that's immoral.
So nobody should be supporting. theft according to god and uh as well as coveting other people's stuff that's right so i don't want to always be like oh this doesn't work no no no no no um i want to be able to show you well then this is but it does lay the foundation of why we focus on what we do i want to show you why the other people are lying to you when they promote these other ideas and so what does work then of course we need to first number one We need to change our mindset about these people. I've talked about this before. We stop seeing and treating those whom the founders would call tyrants as legitimate because they have violated their oath. Therefore, they are usurpers and they are illegitimate. And we needed to think of them that way. And so that we can start to treat them that way because they depend on you thinking that they are legitimate for their power. And they fear you seeing them for who they are because they know once you see them for who they are, you can start acting in the way that you should. Yeah, Kay, go ahead. The way I remember it, when they were starting to implement Social Security, President Benson told the people, you voted for freedom before you came here. Don't change your vote here. Absolutely.
I have seen where over and over and over the prophets did warn us from public school to everything else. But we always wanted free, so we voted for free. So just remember, every time they offer you stuff for free, you're getting more and more in debt. Chains, yep. Yes. Thank you, Kay. And one of the problems, we call it free when it's actually looting. So we've got to change our mindset, number one. The next thing is we have to, let's go over those first steps, right? Before we get into any of the hanging folks, let's talk about the first things we do is we have to build understanding and including exposing the evil. As Mark's talked about tonight. is if we don't do that, what we set up afterwards will be just as bad as what we have now. So if we skip the foundational steps, remember a couple of weeks ago, I talked about showing the clip from Karate Kid. We always want to skip the hard work and just, I want to be a ninja today, right? I want to have liberty today.
Well, we're in a position where because of... because of government schools because of talk radio because of the news that we don't understand the principles that would allow us to have freedom if if we got rid of all the bad guys today and so right if we got rid of social security today we'd have 95 99 percent republicans opposing us and wanting the new guy to make sure we have another retirement and disabled income where we steal from people today to give to people, you know, from one guy to give to another, Rob Peter to pay Paul. And so that's just one example. And so we're in a position where just skipping to the end would not solve the problem. We have to do the hard work of building our own understanding, of building the understanding of those around us, And a part of that not only is understanding good, but we have to understand evil as well. And we have to expose the evil and call out the evil. We have to do that hard work. And then the next hard work that we have to do is we have to build a geographic area of people. We have to get our neighbors either move to a place where everybody already agrees with us, or we build an area that, you know, help change the understanding of those around us to understand these principles.
But if we're the only ones that want freedom, then everyone around you is going to demand you to go to prison. I want to give an example of that. I know a guy that grew up in Germany during the National Socialist reign there in the 30s and 40s. And they had free food. Every week they would get these stamps that were sent to them to go and collect their food. And every week it was sent out. And one week, and if you've heard the story and just bear with me, the stamp stopped and people said, oh, that's weird. What's going on? And they just kind of dealt with it. Another week goes by and their cupboards get pretty, starting to get pretty bare. And they're wondering what's going on. The third week goes on and their cupboards are pretty much bare and they're wondering how they're going to feed their family. And in the following week, instead of the food stamp coming in the mail, they get a letter saying, So-and-so down the street has a gun. Until that man has his gun turned in, you're not going to get your food. And so the entire neighborhood gathered together to get that guy to turn in their guns.
The government didn't need to go door-to-door collecting guns. The government just got the people to do it for them. And so if you do not set that standard, if you do not get a community of people around you that will support liberty... You are the only one in your community that supports liberty and everybody else in the community is in chains and they want their free handout. They're going to go after you and you're going to be all by yourself because of that. And you're going to be all alone, which is going to be much easier, not only for the government to pick you off, but for the government to use your neighbors to pick you off. And so we've got to do the hard work of building a community of people that will. have your back and that you will have their backs. That is the hard work that has to be established first. That is a second part of the foundation that before we do anything else has to be done. The second one is to nullify, right? And again, and I agree with what Mark said that, of course, enforcement, I mean, actively interposing is a part of it, but I wanted to kind of separate the steps with two different words.
So for today's We're going to say nullification is just the refusal to obey or to enforce. OK, so that's the first step is I'm not going to obey this illegal law. And if you are a cop, if you are an IRS agent. If you're a person in authority, you're not going to enforce it. You're going to nullify it by not enforcing it. The next step is interposing against the enforcement of illegal acts. You interpose. You actively prevent its enforcement. If the conspiracy didn't control government, you would have a police officer stopping an IRS agent from... confiscating your home or from collecting money out of your check. You would have a cop preventing a CPS agent from kidnapping your child. You would have a cop or somebody at some level preventing OSHA from invading your business. But because if a government has the right to do that, of course, you have the right to do that. The next step after ignoring it is to go out there and yourself physically prevent someone's rights from being trampled. And so I want to give an example of interposition. We have in Georgia, there was a court case of Worchester versus Georgia in 1832.
And the Supreme Court ruled against Georgia. They said you guys were violating the Constitution. And because, of course, the states and the individuals are the final arbiter, according to the founding fathers, of what the Constitution says, they passed their own law. that said anyone that comes to georgia to enforce the court ruling will be hung and so they were saying not only are we not we're going to ignore you but we're going to kill anyone that comes into our state to enforce this illegal act of the or the ruling of the court and so that's an example of interposition standing in the way preventing an illegal act from being implemented um it was It was regarding private property. I was afraid he was pausing to see if I was going to comment about, hell yeah, that's the way to do it. Moses was asking me a question. So what was the law? I can't remember specifically. It was something about private property and the courts were trying to enforce the idea of removing someone's private property. And so Georgia said, no, you can't do that. And so the next step is to defend yourself, your family, and your like-minded community against acts of aggression. So getting into those final steps that we find in Killing No Murder, and we see what the Founding Fathers ultimately did, but your ability to do that. So if somebody, of course, attacks you immediately right now, you don't say, well, I don't have enough people with me.
No, of course, you're being attacked right now. You need to defend your family. That's a God-given right. Anybody that criticizes you for doing that right now is insane. They're evil. And so, but to actively engage in such a thing without having the groundwork, right? If you go to the end, if you go to the last step first before doing the other things, your odds of success are greatly diminished. And so it's essential that as we build up to the final steps, that we lay that foundation and so that we have a solid ground to stand on for success. And so we have to make sure that we don't fall into the temptation of skipping those steps that are hard and just wanting to do the end. Because in fact, it's going to be easier. Sometimes, you know, we... think of a recipe, right? And we don't want to mix the dry ingredients together and then separately mix the wet ingredients together and then combine them. We don't got time for that. We're going to mix them all together at the same time. And you know what? You didn't actually save time because the end product, you had to throw away. It didn't work. It wasn't what you wanted.
And so you had to start over and do it right. You had to do it right anyways. And so you never save time. by taking a shortcut. We have to recognize and be committed to actually doing the hard work. And so in the beginning, I mentioned the importance of going into the member portal, using that to educate ourselves, and then using those tools to print off cards to pass along and help people know about these principles of liberty and know about the Tree of Liberty Society. That's that groundwork that has to be done before we can get to the stuff of nullification, interposition, and defending ourselves against acts of aggression. And so, of course, we need to... what is the tree of liberty society named after is this great quote by by thomas jefferson and i i hope that we would understand these things and be willing to um have the moral fortitude to not skip the necessary steps and that we understand why those solutions that are talked about so much that are so tempting don't work that they're wrong and that those that study like the 10th amendment center have studied what the founding fathers said, they know why those don't work and why those talking heads that are telling us to do those things are wrong. And time has proven them to be wrong.
And they've proven the methods of the founding fathers to be right. And so we need to stop falling for those shortcuts. And so that we can start doing the thing that actually works instead of wasting our time and having to throw everything out and start all over again. And so with that, we are way over time. I need to make a comment on your throwing things out. You don't throw it away. You just claim that it's Dutch or Italian food. You just feed it to the kids anyway. All right, let's go ahead and have a closing prayer, and then we can get into more details. I'll go over the comments during the open forum. But I'm going to ask... Rulon, good to see you. I don't know if you have an opportunity to say the closing prayer for us. You just got to unmute if you can. Yeah. Awesome. Thank you. Our Father in heaven, we come before thee in prayers. We thank thee for the many blessings you have poured down upon us. And we thank thee for looking after our families. And we ask that thou will please bless us in the future that we will be able to. build up thy kingdom that the wicked governments of this earth will be destroyed and brought down and thy kingdom established and we pray that we can stand in holy places and be protected and we offer this prayer in the name of thy son jesus christ amen amen thank you
